As the festive season rushes towards us like the Polar Express, we thought that it would be nice to feature a little video piece from the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Inverness this year.

The soundtrack to the video was recorded by the kids from TFX Performing Arts Academy, recorded we hasten to add while they were doing a charity carol singing session at Asda in Inverness. They sound fantastic but any glitches in the recording are entirely down to me. A quick lesson on how to use the equipment and an impromptu recording in the entrance to a busy supermarket, probably won't be what Simon Cowell will be planning for James Arthur's first album. But needs must and all that!

The carol singing was in aid of two really worthwhile charities, Highland Hospice and Children 1st. So if you missed them singing live, but enjoyed the performance on the video, why not head over to either one's website and make a wee donation. They all count.

Finally from all of us here at DP, whatever you are doing over the festive season have a great time and don't do anything we wouldn't.

Looking forward to 2013 already.
